Senior Product Engineer.

I build things that matter. I think in systems. I work from Queenstown.

Where I come from.

I am a product engineer and cloud architect with about 10 years in software, based in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, South Africa. I grew up in the Eastern Cape and build from a region where strong product work should not require relocating to Johannesburg or Cape Town.

Senior Product Engineer & Cloud Architect is the short version. The longer version is that I help founders turn ideas into apps, platforms, and AI tools without agency overhead or a bench of juniors learning on your runway.

My stack is React, Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript, and Python, with cloud work on GCP, AWS, and Azure. I use Supabase and Firebase when a product needs a fast, real-time backend. See writing for how I think in public, or scope a project when you are ready to talk build.

I have never believed that good engineering is about writing clever code. It is about solving the right problem, at the right time, with the right tradeoff.

Senior product engineer and cloud architect based in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. I build full-stack apps, AI tools, and cloud systems for founders across South Africa. I care about products that stay maintainable after the launch party, especially when payments, auth, and compliance matter in South Africa.

How I work

Systems before shortcuts

I map the problem, the constraints, and what “done” means before writing code. A clean architecture pays you back on every feature after launch.

Shipped beats slideware

Demos are useful. Production traffic is the test. I bias toward working software, observability, and handoffs you can run without me in the room.

Direct by default

You talk to the person building the product. Scope, tradeoffs, and timeline stay visible so you are never guessing what happened last sprint.
